Sophie Gradon dead

Several people are paying tribute to Love Island series two star Sophie Gradon, who died yesterday at the age of 32.

Her boyfriend Aaron Armstrong broke the news on Facebook today, writing: “I will never forget that smile. I love you so so much baby, you’re my world forever and always.”

A Northumbria Police spokesperson told Daily Star Online: “At about 8.27pm yesterday (June 20) police attended a property in Medburn, Ponteland, where sadly a 32-year-old woman was found deceased.

“There are not believed to be any suspicious circumstances surrounding her death. A report will now be prepared for the coroner.”

Sophie is best known for appearing on Love Island in 2016, alongside stars such as Olivia Buckland and Alex Bowen.

She coupled up with Tom Powell and Katie Salmon during her time on the show, making them the first same sex pairing.

Sophie was decided to leave the show on day 39.

Katie tweeted: “Your smile will be remembered forever. My thoughts are with your family, friends and loved ones at this horrendous time.

“Too young, too sweet, too kind. I’m sending all my love, I truly am, to everyone who had the pleasure of ever being in her company.”

Geordie Shore star Holly Hagan said: “You were only helping me battle the Twitter trolls yesterday. Rest in peace beautiful.”

As well as appearing on reality television, Sophie was a certified beauty queen, as she won both Miss Newcastle and Miss Great Britain in 2009.

She was previously linked to rugby player Danny Cipriani in 2013 but has recently stayed out of the limelight.

The Geordie lass recently spilled some Love Island secrets, including the measures producers went to stop them knowing the time.

She told Chronicle Live: “The only way we could really judge it was the position of the sun in the sky and which bits of the garden were in the shade.

“There was a clock in the jacuzzi but if we looked at it we used to get a warning over the speakers.”

The current series of Love Island continues tonight at 9pm on ITV2, after returning to screens earlier this month.
