Meet the Scottish footballer forced to play with a police ankle monitor

Paul McGowan

The Scottish Premier League kicked off last weekend and away from the spotlight of Steven Gerrard starting life at Rangers and Celtic getting another title defence underway, Paul McGowan played with a tracking device around his ankle.

On probation, the Dundee FC player has been made to play with the device after an altercation with a security guard at a nightclub that he was involved in last July.

From 2010 to now, McGowan has five arrests for different reasons, relating to public disorder and abusive behaviour.

Fines and community service have not worked as hoped and now the 30-year-old has been made to wear the device for two months now, even when he plays, and he also has a curfew which will be supervised for a year.
